Thank you for visiting my page.
My name is Michael Young (M6ESH) and I live in Esh Winning, Durham which is situated in the North East of England.
I am a British Forces veteran where I served as a Communications Operator and Bomb Disposal.
After the forces I worked as a Telecommunication's Engineer for Openreach.
I am currently in the process of starting to work for the British Antarctic Survey where I will be going to work at Rothera Research Station in the Antarctic Peninsula as a Radio Operator.

I am also a football referee and follow Newcastle United and a massive non league football fan as well as a fan of Ice Hockey where I follow the Whitley Warriors.
I've been off the radio for a few years but just recently bought a 2nd hand Icom IC7000 so will be hoping to make contact with people soon.
I have operated in the past under the callsign VP8ROT when I was in Antarctica back in 2002.
