Hello, my name is Sam. I live in Crawley, West Sussex, ENGLAND (80m above sea level). I work as a pest controller/gardener among other things. I have a beautiful wife named Hayley and 3 wonderful children (Alisha, Elliott and Jessica). We also have a 13 year old English Bull Terrier called Duke.
I passed my foundation amateur radio licence exam in September 2024, so I am still new to the hobby and learning. I'm currently using a Kenwood TS-590SG. I've built a T2LT for 10m and I've built a dipole for 20m. I was using a SGC-230 Smartuner with a 17m wire element (inverted L) over 16 ground radials of varying lengths but unfortunately I damaged it. I use the TS-590SG with CAT control and use an SDRPlay RSP1B as a panadapter so I get a full waterfall display and control using the PC. Just Started using WSJT-X (FT8 + WSPR). For VHF/UHF portable I use a Tidradio TD-H3 handheld radio with a Nagoya NA771 antenna and at home I use a 2m KEY radio with X50N antenna.
