First HF Contact - 20M Indonesian Station
I just checked my EQSL account, and the first station I worked on 20M was an Indonesian station 8B0RARI. I was behind my house in Blackburn on a hill in the car running 50 watts.
At the time I was sat with 2E0LWI, I gave a CQ out and then this station came back to me, Me and Mike both looked at each other and thought we got the callsign wrong. We then asked him for his callsign again and it was verified and correct. As soon as others listening realised he was an Indonesian station there was a massive pile-up of people trying to get to the station.
To me after not operating since 2007 was amazing to see that with such little power, I was able to speak to someone on 20M at the other side of the world almost 11,000km away from where I was!
